Windows 7 Translated into African Languages

Language that contained in the latest Microsoft’s operating system, Windows 7, will be translated into 10 languages of Africa. This efforts is to increase the use of Windows 7 as well as fighting piracy.

Ten languages are planned to be realized in 2011, that is the language of Sesotho sa Leboa, Setswana, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Afrikaans, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Kiswahili and Amharic.

“This is related to technology access in the African continent to be more familiar with the context and language so as to solve the problems for this to happen,” said Mark Matunga, Manager of Microsoft Eastern and Southern Africa.

Android and iPhone Take Lead the Total Web Traffic in USA

Smart phone OS (Operating System) based Google’s Android and Apple’s iPhone occupies portions of 75 per cent of the total mobile web traffic in the U.S..

Data from admob mobile advertising agency says, a combination of Android-based handset, iPhone, and Apple iPod accounting for three-quarters of the total mobile web traffic in the U.S. last month. Such information is quoted from the Telegraph.

In a survey in the same period, found that admob mobile web traffic from Blackberry device decreased by two percent, so only the occupied portion of 12 percent of mobile web traffic.

While the new handset Palm Pre seem quite able to achieve market confidence. Pre OS portion only get five percent, compared to the previous month’s decline in the position 10 percent of the total traffic in mobile web activity.

Thunderbirds 3.0 Release Candidate (RC)

Mozilla has completed Thunderbirds 3.0 Release Candidate (RC) to the public, explained the developer, the browser is capable of running on three operating systems as well as the Windows, Mac and Linux.

“Thunderbird 3.0 is intended as a public release to get feedback from the public during the test and the developer community,” wrote Mozilla in his statement.

Internet explorer 9 : let the browser war begin

Motorola Success shifted Apple

War that raged between Apple and Motorola are increasingly heated. Both could attack each other through advertising to bring down one another.

Now Motorola can smile happy, because according to one study, a new brand that just launched Droid, has surpasses Apple iPhone brand loyalty among young men aged 18 years and over.

This was revealed by the statistics YouGov’s BrandIndex. This statistical data indicates that loyalty to Apple’s score dropped from 48.1 to number 22 in the last week, so place it in position under Motorola. Nokia itself is relatively stable, from 32.3 to 29.3 score.

Israeli Cellphone Challenging iPhone and Blackberry

An Israeli company claims to produce handsets that would destabilize the domination of elite phones like the iPhone and the BlackBerry. Vendors named Emblaze Mobile was even going to announce that their smartphone is more sophisticated than the usual smartphone and revolutionize the mobile experience for users.

Their first handset named First Else, officially launched in London and will be available in the first quarter of 2010. The phone is using Intuition Else operating system, developed by Emblaze with acess Software with Access Linux platform.

Google Chrome OS Challenging Microsoft

For the first time, Google finally showed a preview of its operating system, Chrome OS. Operating system based on open source is going to be a potential opponent for the Windows operating system from Microsoft.

But unlike Windows, Google says Chrome OS is the ideal operating system for devices outside the main computer. This indicates Chrome OS device intended for complementary, rather than to the primary computer user.

With the slogan ‘Speed, simplicity, security’, this OS is more like a browser with broad functionality and working in the SSD (solid state drive) rather than on the hard drive.
